i believe investing in CDM projects is still a better idea than to just buy carbon credits from the various trading schemes.
My reasons:
1) It actually reduces carbon emissions, unlikely what has been stated by channel4.
2) Developing countries are one of the biggest emitters of Carbon and they need that financial help to install better technology for reducing emissions.
3) Dont know if this really counts :) but i guess there is some moral satisfaction for companies who have actually invested in reducing the carbon emissions rather than simply buying the rights from the exchange.
Having said that, there are still some limitations in the Kyoto protocol which needs to be addressed to realize its full potential.
